Ruby Barker has opened up on her mental health, explaining that she's been in hospital after being "really unwell".The 25 year old first found fame back in 2020 after playing the role of Marina Thompson in the hit Netflix show Bridgerton, starring alongside the likes of Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page.

But since the programme aired, the actor has revealed she's struggled and now, in a candid Instagram post, she's opened up on what's been going on.

Dressed in a black hoodie, Ruby started the nearly six-minute clip by asking her 231,000 fans how they "really" are. She continued: "I am better, I have been really unwell for a really long time.

"I am going to take a little bit of a break for myself and I would encourage others, if you are struggling, do yourself a favour and take a break, stop being so hard on yourself." Ruby, whose fellow Bridgerton co-star Nicola Coughlan recently spoke out on filming X-rated scenes, said she "hasn't hit rock bottom" as she's recognised that she needs support, before explaining how she used to be a person who was "rage-filled, frustrated, angry, all this intergenerational trauma bundled up inside me".
