Next year's BRIT Awards have been rescheduled to May 2021 over concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. The annual British music award ceremony was due to take place in February of next year but has been pushed back by three months.

The new date for the award ceremony is currently set as May 11 and the event will be aired on live TV. According to the award ceremony organisers, the safety and logistics of hosting the award show played a huge factor in the decision.

Having consulted music industry partners Mastercard, ITV and AEG, BRIT Award organisers agreed upon the postponed date. On the official social media page for the ceremony, bosses shared a throwback picture of a packed-out BRIT ceremony and revealed they were 'excited'
