A British man has died of coronavirus in a hospital on the Greek island of Corfu. The 71-year-old man, from Scotland, died on Thursday morning, just hours after he was admitted to Corfu's General Hospital in an "extremely bad condition", it is reported.
The Briton was displaying symptoms of "severe pneumonia" and was tested for Covid-19 at a clinic before he was transferred to the hospital.
That test result came back positive, and a second test, conducted at the hospital, also showed that he was infected with the virus.
Greece is not on the Scottish Government's list of 'safe travel' corridors, meaning people arriving in Scotland from Greece must quarantine for 14 days.
