Bruno Fernandes has revealed he 'cried with happiness' when he heard Manchester United wanted to sign him - after fearing his chance of a dream move had gone.
Fernandes became an instant hit at United after his £48million transfer from Sporting Lisbon in January, having helped the Red Devils to an 11-game unbeaten run before the season was halted by coronavirus.
The Portugal midfielder had been linked with a move to the Premier League last summer, but neither United nor Tottenham were ready to meet Sporting's £75m valuation.
And the 25-year-old has revealed he thought his dream of playing in English football's top flight might never come to fruition. "You know, I will say the truth that I was scared," Fernandes said on Instagram
