Some businesses will close from 3pm as further restrictions come into effect in an effort to curb a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases.
Health authorities say they are gravely concerned by the rapid increase in cases across all ages and are worried about increasing numbers of people being admitted to hospital.
Restaurants and gastropubs will have to close for indoor dining and will be able to offer takeaway and deliveries only. Hairdressers, nail bars, cinemas, galleries and museums will also have to close.
The National Public Health Emergency Team recommended the move after becoming concerned at the rapidly escalating number of new cases.
