The United States Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has issued a rodent warning after scientists noticed starved rats are becoming more aggressive towards humans.
Rats and other rodents have become more aggressive in their search for food as people have stopped dining out over coronavirus concerns.
Pre-lockdown, hundreds of thousands of people would pass through restaurants, train stations and busy inner cities, dropping food or leaving it behind as they go.
Food sources have therefore dried up, forcing rats and rodents to fight for their fair share. The situation has become so serious that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has put an advisory alert warning people of "aggressive rodent behaviour" towards the public.
