WASHINGTON - An advisory panel to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is meeting Tuesday to discuss and vote on whether to recommend Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11.
The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is scheduled to meet from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. The meeting is open to the public and is being livestreamed.By vaccinating children, the U.S.
hopes to head off another coronavirus wave during the cold-weather months when people spend more time indoors and respiratory illnesses can spread more easily.
