Cheeky Girls now - incredible comeback from health crisis, bankruptcy and botched surgery

The Popstars: The Rivals judges didn't know what was going on when Transylvanian twins Gabriela and Monica Irimia arrived wearing tiny hotpants and singing about men touching their bum at the start of the Noughties.

But despite being branded the 'worst act ever' by Pete Waterman, the fans loved The Cheeky Girls and within weeks they'd scored their own record deal.

Their debut single Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) - which was famously written by their mum Margit in just 30 minutes - went straight to number two in December 2002 and sold 1.2million copies worldwide.

Two more top three singles followed - Take Your Shoes Of and (Hooray, Hooray) It's a Cheeky Holiday! - and a hit album titled PartyTime.
