Chessington Zoo will reopen to the public on Tuesday despite being in a Tier 4 area which means only essential travel is allowed.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort is in Surrey which was plunged into Tier 4 on December 20 with the exception of Waverley.

However Waverley was later placed into Tier 4 on Boxing Day. Under the tougher restrictions anyone living in Tier 4 are warned to stay at home and are limited on household mixing to two people outdoors.

All non-essential shops, hairdressers and gyms are closed while pubs and restaurants must also shut but can offer takeaways and deliveries.
