A Chinook helicopter has been spotted in the skies above Greater Manchester this morning. The military aircraft was seen flying over Cheshire, Trafford and Salford before heading in the direction of Manchester Airport.

It comes after a RAF C-17 Globemaster was seen by many across the region on Wednesday. The RAF are understood to be making the most of the quiet skies and have been carrying out training exercises in the North West.

A Chinook was also seen in Manchester earlier this week. The aircraft was being used to provide assistance to the NHS effort to combat coronavirus.
