Concern as £2.6m from roads budget used for Perth City Hall project

Perth and Kinross Council roads budget to help pay for the Perth City Hall project. Councillors were this week asked to approve the transfer of £3.3 million from other PKC budgets to finance the major revamp as costs escalate to £26.5 million. Long-awaited signing of £700m Tay Cities Deal takes place in online ceremony Moving the City Hall project towards a financial close, work is expected to commence on site in early 2021.

To meet the increased costs councillors approved transferring £2.6 million from the Roads Asset Management (structural maintenance) budget; £200,000 from the Perth and Kinross Place Making budget and £500,000 from the Investment in Learning Estate budget in the current year.
