The actor - who is best known for playing Kirk Sutherland on the ITV soap - opened up on the change just weeks after The Sun revealed the show would close its boozer to reflect the reality of coronavirus.

Andy, 39, told OK! magazine: "I think we are hoping to get back mid June, that's what we're working towards. We have enough episodes in the can until early July, so hopefully we won't have to go off air." When asked if the show will reflect the pandemic in future storylines, he added: "I think it will.
