Coronation Street will resume filming next week after the coronavirus lockdown halted production. Confirming the news on Twitter, soap bosses said and crew will be back on set next Tuesday (June 9), 11 weeks after the break in filming was announced.

Safety measures have been put in place that will lower the risk of the spread of the deadly bug on set. With new restrictions in place, the show will be continue to be on for three episodes a week.

It will mean that the soap will stay on air throughout July. Members of the cast and crew who are over the age of 70 or have an underlying health condition won't be on set straight away.
