The number of coronavirus cases and deaths have spiked in Germany after the country started lifting lockdown measures – sparking fears of a second wave of the deadly virus.
Many restrictions were put back in place just days after German Chancellor Angela Merkel lifted many of the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
Last week, she told reporters: "We are at a point where our goal of slowing the spread of the virus has been achieved and we have been able to protect our health system...
so it has been possible to discuss and agree on further easing measures." But after that decision, the number of new cases has now jumped.
