An Australian scientist was rushed to hospital after magnets he used while creating a device to help prevent people getting the coronavirus got stuck up his nose.
Astrophysicist Dr Daniel Reardon thought he had an ingenious way to help people stop touching their face - by creating a necklace that would react if your hands went near it.
But, the device did not work as intended and, actually, “had the opposite effect”, according to the scientist. He said it continued to buzz continuously until a magnet was placed near it.
Dr Reardon continued to tell the BBC: “I had a laugh and gave up temporarily. Then I started mindlessly placing the magnets on my face. “First my ear lobes, then my nostrils - like a magnetic piercing. “The problem was
