Coronavirus in Scotland: Dundee care home worker dies from suspected coronavirus as outbreak deepens

A care home worker in Dundee has died with a suspected Coronavirus infection. The death of a member of staff at the Pitkerro Care Home was confirmed earlier this afternoon.

It comes after the Whitehills home in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire declared a crisis after fifteen staff there were revealed to be off work after displaying coronavirus symptoms.

Commenting on the tragic death, a spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: “We are aware of the tragic death of a staff member at this care home as a result of suspected Covid-19."Our thoughts are with their family and loved ones, and with the staff at the home.“We are in contact with the care service and the local health and social care partnership during this difficult time."All of
