Exhausted mum shamed online for not joining clap for carers outside home

An exhausted mum says she was named and shamed on Facebook for not joining Thursday's clap for carers outside her home. People across the nation have been coming out of their homes every week to clap for NHS staff and other key workers who are helping in the fight against  coronavirus.

However, one mother claims she was shamed on social media for not taking part last week and felt "mortified", reports Chronicle Live.

Writing on parenting site Mumsnet, she said: "I clapped originally and it was lovely and everyone turned out for it here.
