Shocking footage shows coronavirus patients hooked up to ventilators at two British hospitals, with the situation described as 'completely unimaginable'.

Heroic medics were filmed battling to save lives at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital's intensive care unit, known as the 'red zone', in one of the reports.

Critically ill patients were hooked up to ventilators in the unit, where two people died overnight on Sunday. Linda New, who left the ICU on Sunday, told ITV she would not have survived the disease without the NHS.

She added: "I just wanted to get it through it for my children. Without this lot, I wouldn't have done. They've been so, so good." Alan Hunt, 62, also spoke to the broadcaster after eight days on the hospital's coronavirus
