Coronavirus: London-Middlesex region records 3 new deaths, 91 new cases, health unit says

coronavirus, the Middlesex-London Health Unit reported on Friday, continuing a disturbing surge in cases in recent weeks that has local health officials sounding the alarm and urging people to follow lockdown restrictions and public health guidance.As of Friday, the region’s total case tally stands at 4,127, of which 2,958 people have recovered — an increase of 42 from the day before — and 119 have died.

At least 1,050 cases are currently active in the region.According to health officials, the three deaths reported Friday involve a man in his 50s who was not associated with a seniors’ facility, and a man and woman in their 80s and 90s who were associated with a long-term care home.The deaths are the 15th, 16th and 17th to be reported so far.
