A coronavirus outbreak has been confirmed at a pub which had punters packed in "like sardines" in the beer garden. Ten people who visited The Crown and Anchor in Stone, Staffordshire, have tested positive for Covid-19.

Visitors and staff who were at the boozer between July 16 and 18 are now being told to self-isolate and urgently get swabs done.

A photo sent to StokeonTrentLive by a resident also shows a large group of people in the pub's beer garden on July 18. Witnesses said it looked like 200 people were enjoying themselves at the business.

Anyone who has been in close contact with visitors to the pub is being encouraged to have a test at a new centre set up 350 yards away at the Crown Street car park.
