A 28-year-old man left fighting for his life by coronavirus has issued a stark warning for people ignoring official advice - and described his ordeal as "harrowing".

Michael Prendergast said he was unable to lift his head as he contracted deadly pneumonia. Speaking from his hospital bed in Kerry, Ireland, Michael - who had just returned from London when he was taken ill - said he never expected to be affected as badly as he was.
