Real Madrid's Bernabeu stadium will be used in the fight against coronavirus as it is transformed into a storage and distribution centre for medical resources.
The 78,000-seater stadium will be used as a point whereby foundations can collect and receive donations of materials which will be used to combat Covid-19.
Madrid's head of regional government, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who has tested positive for coronavirus, publicly thanked Los Blancos two days ago for what she called a “big donation in health materials”.
She also heaped praise on national goalkeeper David de Gea who provided a substantial donation. His former club Atletico Madrid have themselves made a donation as football rallies together to fight the global pandemic.
