Real Madrid are continuing to work on the renovation of the Bernabeu with hopes the new stadium will be ready by October 2022.
Plans to revamp the famous stadium were unveiled more than five years ago and Real Madrid are still working on the stadium after being given approval from the city’s council.
The venue is currently open to help local hospitals amid the coronavirus pandemic with no matches being played. And though the work could still take another five years, the club have officially stated the date of completion to be October 2022.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said in 2016: “With this agreement, we will start a process of modernisation and transformation that will convert the stadium into an avant-garde architectural icon.
