Coronavirus: Schools could reopen in June after half-term in 'staggered end to lockdown'

Schools in the UK could open as soon as June in what the government is calling a "staggered" approach to lifting the coronavirus lockdown.

The lockdown in the UK is likely to be in place for a few more months, The Telegraph reports. But officials are said to already be discussing plans for a return to normality – starting with when children will be going back to school.

Under the plans, classrooms could be the first to return in a key-stage “staggered” exit strategy. The Department for Education is thought to be considering plans which would see different age groups going back to school before the summer holiday between June and July.
