A former RAF fighter pilot has revealed how his fight against Covid- 19 landed him on 'death row'. Dave Lewins, 60, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, is now recovering at home after nine days in hospital where he witnessed eight people die around him from the deadly disease.

The helicopter instructor, says: "It was the worst experience of my life. "Worse than my battle against testicular cancer twenty years ago. "I even re-did my will as I was convinced I wouldn't make it." Three weeks ago, the father-of-two, began feeling dizzy at work and went home to bed.
