Five of the people who died in the last 24 hours were from the NHS Ayrshire & Arran region.However, data from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows 6,298 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, December 20 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.The number of positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 100 to 8,609.In terms of the rolling seven-day new cases rate per 100,000.
