The loss of taste and smell could be the biggest sign you have coronavirus, British researchers have found. Scientists at King's College London have been tracking almost two million people's symptoms on an app they created for the Covid-19 pandemic.
Of those who had tested positive for coronavirus by March 29, 59% reported a loss of smell and taste, compared to 18% of those who tested negative.
Researchers said these symptoms - known as anosmia - were much stronger in predicting a positive Covid-19 diagnosis than a high fever, The Mirror reports.
