The second phase of the trial of the coronavirus vaccine tipped to be the ‘front runner’ in the fight against COVID-19 has started today.
The first phase of the trial at the University of Oxford began in April, and included 1,000 adult volunteers. Now, more than 10,000 volunteers - including over 70s and 5-12-year-olds - have been enrolled in the second phase of the trial.
