The Costas are deserted as Brits stay away after Health Secretary Matt Hancock said a second wave of coronavirus is rolling across Europe.
Usually busy hotels have been shutting their doors since the Government ordered quarantine for those returning from Spain. Businesses in popular resorts slammed the Government’s “draconian” move, which came just weeks after Spain was put on the UK’s list of safe countries.
At Malaga airport, the gateway to the Costa del Sol for millions of Brits each year, half-empty planes landed throughout the day from airports across the UK.
Many of the passengers who did make the trip said they were only doing so as they had a business or holiday home in the area.
