The number of people infected with the coronavirus stood at more than 244,000 across the world as of Friday morning, 20 March, with more than 10,000 dead.
The flu-like virus was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year, and has since spread to more than 180 countries and territories.
But Hubei province, of which Wuhan is the capital, now has very few new cases. Instead, Europe is the epicentre of virus, with cases - and deaths - growing most quickly in Italy.
A graphic created by Reuters illustrates the spread of the virus from the epicentre of Wuhan across the world from 1 January to 20 March this year.
