Covid-19 deaths fall in South Lanarkshire but most fatalities happed in care homes

Coronavirus deaths in South Lanarkshire fell by more than a quarter last week to 37.However, almost 60 per cent of those (22) were in the region's care homes.
In the previous week 25 people died from coronavirus in a South Lanarkshire care home.Figures released by the National Records of Scotland today (Wednesday, May 6) revealed that, in total, 190 people in South Lanarkshire have died from the virus.Of those, 84 occurred in care homes, while 85 people died in hospital and 21 at home.North Lanarkshire also saw 37 deaths last week where Covid-19 was listed on the death certificate however, less than half (15) were in care homes.That takes the total number of coronavirus deaths in Lanarkshire to 385 as of Sunday, May 3.Lanarkshire as a whole
