BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court has ruled that banks will have to put off all auctions, as part of its recovery proceedings, until the government's lockdown regulations are revoked.
The interim ex-parte order was passed after an aggrieved party filed a petition in the high court saying that banks have been initiating auctions at a time when the entire country is under a lockdown.
In its order, passed on Tuesday, the court said it “is of the opinion that the proposed auctions require to be averted till the restrictions imposed under the Government Order are revoked." Under current guidelines, banks are only allowed to provide basic facilities to citizens.
