Soap fans have shared their dismay over the new coronavirus schedules for EastEnders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Hollyoaks, with all four UK soaps halting filming.

As cases and deaths from COVID-19 rise in the UK and around the world, the pandemic has put a stop to TV production and filming.

This has meant all four soaps have had to reduce weekly episode amounts, to make sure they have enough to air over the coming months.

There's fears soaps could run out of new content by early summer if filming does not recommence. EastEnders and Hollyoaks have gone down to two episodes weekly, on a Monday and Tuesday - while Wednesdays to Fridays will see old episodes of Channel 4's Hollyoaks air.
