US President Donald Trump has warned that the coronavirus crisis in the United States is likely to "get worse before it gets better".

Speaking at his first formal White House briefing on the pandemic since the end of April, Mr Trump said that while some areas of the US "are doing very well...

others are doing less well." He said "It will probably unfortunately get worse before it gets better." Mr Trump also said there had been a "a concerning rise in cases in many parts of our South." So far more than 141,000 people have died from the virus in the United States.
