Cyprus to ban British tourists when it reopens next month

British travellers will be banned from visit Cyprus when the island re-opens to tourist next months, officials have said. The UK will not be included on a list of 19 nations allowed to visit Cyprus from June 9th.

Cyprus' Minister for Transport, Yiannis Karousos, said the country will allow direct flights from 19 countries in two stages starting on June 9.

In the first stage of the plan, the country will only allow flights from Greece, Malta, Bulgaria, Norway, Austria, Finland, Slovenia, Hungary, Israel, Denmark, Germany, Slovakia and Lithuania.

All visitors to Cyprus will have to test negative for coronavirus within 72 hours of their scheduled flight if they want to be let into the country.
