A dad has become the 600th person to be discharged from Fairfield General Hospital in Bury after recovering from Covid-19. Brendan Caffery, 52, has defied the odds and returned to the care home where he first fell ill to continue his recovery.
The father-of-two, from Blackley, has suffered with Parkinson’s disease for the last 10 years. He was described as “very poorly” when he was first admitted to hospital and his family feared the worst.
But thanks to the care he received from NHS staff, and following several physiotherapy sessions, Brendan has managed to beat the virus.
His wife, Julie, said: "I would like to say the care Brendan has received has been absolutely phenomenal. “The doctors and nurses at Fairfield General Hospital have
