Drinker finds out they have coronavirus after visiting Britain's biggest beer garden

A drinker has tested positive for coronavirus after they attended one of Britain's biggest beer gardens over the weekend. The infected person visited a garden capable of holding 500 drinkers which had been erected on a rugby pitch belonging to the Barrow Raiders.

The rugby league side converted the pitch during the lockdown in a bid to recoup money lost as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

An official for the club, which plays two divisions below the Super League in League One, confirmed the positive test on Wednesday.

In the statement, the spokesman said there is no suggestion the virus was contracted at the beer garden. The people who were with the drinker on Sunday have been contacted by the track and trace system and told to
