Dolphin dies after reportedly being harassed by Texas beachgoers
QUINTANA BEACH, Texas - Officials say a dolphin on a Texas beach passed away after she was stranded alive over the weekend and reportedly "harassed by a crowd of people." Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network (TMMSN) shared shocking photos on Facebook, saying a dolphin on Quintana Beach, Texas located in Brazoria County, was "pushed back to sea, where beachgoers tried to swim with and ride the sick animal."We're told the dolphin was ultimately stranded and "further harassed by a crowd of people on the beach, where she later died before rescuers could arrive on scene." Officials warned, that as a result, any interactions with dolphins (other than a professional) can only cause more stress on the mammal, but is also illegal. "This type of harassment causes undue stress to wild dolphins, is dangerous for the people who interact with them, and is illegal - punishable by fines and jail time if convicted," TMMSN said in their Facebook post. "If a live dolphin or whale strands in Texas, please DO NOT PUSH the animal back to sea, do not attempt to swim or interact with them, do not crowd them, and immediately call 1-800-9MAMMAL for guidance on how to help support the animal until the TMMSN rescue response arrives!"MORE STORIES RELATED TO BRAZORIA COUNTYQuintana Park officials condemned the incident as well, calling it a tragedy. "Park staff was called to assist in keeping the public away from the dolphin until rescuers could arrive from Galveston," officials said in their Facebook post.

President Chairs All-Party Conference, says it’s not a political charade
COLOMBO (News 1st); The All-Party Conference is not a mere political charade, stressed Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday (23) while chairing the much-awaited APC at Temple Trees in Colombo.“This All-Party Conference, with representations from the ruling faction and the opposition, was organized to reach solutions in unison for the issues that we face today,” said the President.President Rajapaksa said all politicians are duty-bound to find solutions to the issues that the country is facing today. He urged the political party representatives to be determined to work together to solve the issues that are plaguing the country.Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal who was also present for the meeting said Sri Lanka is facing a serious economic crisis, like most other countries in the world, and when the pandemic struck some countries had a strong foundation and others were not that fortunate. He once again confirmed the Sri Lankan government’s intentions of working with the International Monetary Fund for financial assistance.Former Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, however, snapped back at the Central Governor for opening his remarks by saying the former government was responsible for the crisis, at a time when parties have come forward for the APC casting aside differences.“What would happen if I respond? Then another person will have to respond.
