Drinking one beer a day may help you live longer, says new research. It turns out that some varieties of the golden drink come with a side of health-boosting probiotics.
Scientists have said that a once-a-day snifter can be “good for you” and protect against obesity, insomnia and dementia. Strong Belgian beers are particularly good because they contain a lot of probiotic yeast.
So brews like Hoegaarden and Ech Kriekenbier are a top choice. These probiotics are said to defend against Alzheimers, autism and bowel cancer, by some researchers.
Unlike most other beers, Belgian varieties are fermented twice. Once in the brewery, like normal beer, and then in the bottle.
