ED Sheeran has released his first single - one year after announcing a hiatus from music. The 29-year-old singer thrilled fans with Afterglow, which was shared on his social media page this morning.
Posting a video of himself singing the new track, Ed confirmed that its release does not mean a new album is on the way as he made a prompt return to "dad land" after sharing.
He wrote: "Hey guys. Afterglow is a song I wrote last year that I wanted to release for you. It’s not the first single from the next album, it’s just a song I love, and hope you love too. "Enjoy !
Have a safe and happy festive break and New Year’s. Back to dad land for me now, ciao x" He'd teased the release yesterday, promising fans a "Christmas present" in the cryptic.
