He shared a video of him being presented with a birthday cake as his sons and David Furnish sang Happy Birthday to him in their home.

Although this year’s celebrations are a much more low-key affair than Elton would normally have, he was appreciative of getting to spend it with his nearest and dearest.

He told his followers: ‘Grateful for the best birthday ever with my family’. A week earlier, Elton had encouraged his followers to stay in their homes, sharing a photo of him holding a piece of paper
