Emmerdale cast and crew are beginning to return to work, following filming being halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Soaps like Emmerdale and other TV shows were forced to stop filming, and studios remained empty as ITV bosses put together a plan to get people back to work safely.

With strict new social distancing guidelines in place to help stop the spread of Covid-19, Emmerdale were the first soap to return to filming recently - with six special lockdown episodes filmed.

The episodes were filmed over two weeks with just two or three cast members there at a time, and limited crew members. Cast members had little rehearsal time on location, with it said each episode was filmed in one day.
