Eoin Morgan has poured cold water on Alex Hales making an immediate return to international cricket after the coronavirus delay.
The 50-over World Cup-winning captain has committed to leading England into the T20 World Cup scheduled for October this year in Australia and another in India 12 months later.
And although opening bat Hales would be a contender on ability, Morgan is not satisfied enough time has passed for him to regain the trust he lost on the eve of last year’s tournament.
It was at an England training camp in Wales where news broke of Hales’ 21-day suspension for a second alleged drugs offence.
