Eurozone finance ministers will hold a video conference later this afternoon to decide what financial supports should be made available to member states as economies buckle under the weight of the coronavirus crisis.
Ministers will examine the options of emergency credit lines under the eurozone's main bailout tool, special liquidity supports, or so-called corona-bonds, a mutual debt instrument akin to the euro bonds that were discussed at the height of the financial crisis.
The Portuguese Finance Minister and President of the Eurogroup Mario Centeno has said there would be no limit to the eurozone's response to the outbreak.
