Fall in number of Covid-19 patients in hospital

There has been a fall in the number of people in hospital with Covid-19. As of 8am, there were 282 patients with the virus being treated, down by 15 people on the same time yesterday morning.

However there has been a slight rise in the number of patients with the coronavirus in intensive care units. As of 11.30am, there were 65 people in ICU, compared to a figure of 61 at the same time yesterday.

Yesterday, the Health Service Executive said that those who are immunocompromised will be notified of an appointment for a third dose of Covid-19 vaccine from next week.

People will begin to be notified of their appointments from Wednesday and the administration of the third dose of the vaccine will begin on Friday. Read more coronavirus stories
