FIFA issue threat to players and Premier League over pay cut saga with five conditions

FIFA have threatened to intervene if the Premier League and top-flight stars fail to find a solution over the ongoing pay cut saga, with the coronavirus crisis continuing to cause havoc.

Talks continue between Premier League clubs and the players' union the Professional Footballers' Association over player wage deferrals and cuts.

Top-flight clubs agreed last Friday that it would consult with players over conditional reductions and deferrals up to 30 per cent to offset the potential and actual losses caused by the pandemic.

But, as of Tuesday, no agreement has been made and football's world governing body has been working on recommendations and guidelines to address practical issues brought by the Covid-19 crisis.
