First Dates' Fred slated for 'encouraging eating disorders' in new cooking show

A new show on BBC has been blasted by many for encouraging eating disorders. The Restaurant That Burns off Calories, set to air on BBC Two on Monday evening, features First Dates star Fred Sirieix and This Morning GP Zoe Williams hosting a scientific experiment centred on the amount of exercise required to burn off excess calories from our bodies.

During the show, 20 unsuspecting diners will visit a restaurant for a slap-up meal – but there's a twist. Unbeknown to guests, the restaurant has something unexpected back of house – a functioning gym, where a group of fitness fanatics are poised on exercise bikes, treadmills and rowing machines, ready to burn off every single calorie ordered and consumed by the diners.
