Britain’s forgotten three million are pleading with Chancellor Rishi Sunak to spread some festive joy and help them. ExcludedUK has been campaigning since May on behalf of people it says have received little or no financial support during the pandemic.
With Christmas fast approaching, it has called for an “urgent one-off upfront payment” of £2,000 for each person excluded from meaningful financial support.
The emergency plea comes as a survey of the group’s members revealed just under half (46 per cent) of those excluded are struggling with their mental health because of their situation.
