Former WWE star Shad Gaspar 'died a hero' while saving son's life in sea accident

A host of superstars have led tributes to WWE legend Shad Gaspard after he went missing out at sea. A body has been found in the area where he went missing and the WWE have released a statement confirming his tragic death.

The 39-year-old was swimming just off the coast of Los Angeles' famous Venice Beach, near Marina Del Rey, with his son when a strong rip current swept through.

His 10-year-old boy was rescued by lifeguards but there was no sign of Gaspard. The young male was hospitalised after being pulled from the water but is now said to be healthy and well.
