Fountains of Wayne singer Adam Schlesinger is on a ventilator as he battle coronavirus. The star’s lawyer Josh Grier said that he is ‘very sick’ and is being treated in a New York hospital.
Speaking to Variety, Grier also denied earlier reports that Schlesinger is in a coma. He said: ‘He is very sick and is heavily sedated, as are all people on ventilators, but no one has used the word “coma” to me.’ Grier also explained that the singer has been in hospital for over a week and is receiving ‘excellent medical care’.
The band Fountains of Wayne, which he co-founded in 1995, are best known for songs such as Stacey’s Mom and Mexican Wine. Separately, Schlesinger has won awards for his work on the comedy My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, winning an Emmy
